YOU CAN NOW USE CONSOLE EMULATORS ON META QUEST 2

Meta Quest 2 now supports the emulation of some of your old favorite consoles (skip to bottom for instructions). It’s interesting to see how emulators are becoming more accessible on VR platforms, allowing gamers to relive their favorite classic games in a new and immersive way.

I sometimes like to go back and play old games on emulators, such as Phantasy Star Online, Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, etc; it brings me back to the days when I used to spend hours playing N64, Gamecube, and Playstation games with my friends. The graphics and gameplay may not have been as advanced as today’s games, but the memories and nostalgia associated with those games will always hold a special place in my heart.

This is a great development, because though emulators have been around for a long time, them being available in VR is a great development both for the further adoption of VR and just in general.  The more eyes that get into headsets, the more AAA developers will want to make great VR games (and the less likely it’ll be that the big companies abandon the VR space/retreat from it).  If that happens, we can expect even better and more immersive experiences when playing classic games on VR platforms in the future.

This new development in the Meta Quest 2 ecosystem provides a way to experience classic games from consoles like the N64 and Playstation. With the help of emulators, gamers can relive their favorite memories and discover new ways to enjoy these classic titles.
